# New to Starch Mining

To be able to mine on the starch chain you will need a miner token. The token is an NFT that is used to identify who is mining to ensure you are the only one who can withdraw the miner's balance.

## Get a Miner NTF

You can get your own Starch Miner on the [starch.one/buy](https://starch.one/buy) website.

## Open your Miner

Once you own a starch miner use [pool.pm](https://pool.pm) *(or your preferred Cardano asset viewer)* and click on the link labeled `Open Miner`.

## Start Mining

After you have access to your miner hit start and your miner will begin to collect blocks.

## Redeem your Starch Tokens

You can redeem starch tokens into your Cardano Wallet at any time, to redeem tokens send 6 ADA to the wallet provided on the website.

You will get back all the tokens for all the miners found in your wallet plus \~1.3 ADA, and all miner balances will be reset.
